Are you a therapist?
NO! And I don't replace one! I offer instruction (I'm a teacher!) on social and emotional skills. If a client presents with mental health concerns I will refer them to a mental health professional.
Do you do ABA?
While I am trained in ABA I do not use behavior analysis in my practice. Instead I use a social emotional approach to help build self-management skills.
Where do you work?
I come to your home to work on skills in a comfortable environment. I really believe in the personalization of in-home learning, because it makes generalization of skills learned in session easier. If preferred, we could meet at a neutral environment such as a library or park. I love exercise and would be happy to walk and talk, swing, or play on the playground while we have our session.
Do you take insurance?
At this time I offer private pay only.
What does a coaching session look like?
This varies a lot depending on the person and their goals! Examples include: helping a young man with Down syndrome plan his social life, teaching executive functioning skills to teenagers with ADHD, working through big emotions with young children through play, connecting with nonverbal Autistic children and adults through sensory play.
